Diabetic with severe constipation

Hello,
My uncle who is nearly 80 years old has diabetes and is also suffering from severe constipation. Are there foods / remedies that would help him without interfering with the diabetes?

Ask his doctor for stool softener recommendations. Cut back on dairy products, eat more fiber, more vegetables, more fish, drink more water, and cut back on red meat.
Has he been checked for Alzheimers, Parkinsons, or his Colon and Thyroid evaluated?

You're welcome. Do not go overboard with laxatives as they can worsen the condition.

Hi,
Thank you for the comments.
He does not have Alzheimers, Parkinsons and in general is in very good health.
I'll pass the suggestions on.
It's surprising how constipation is really hurting his quality of life.
