High test results

my blood sugar the last 3 days have been in the 160 range. I am on 1000mg of metformin  daily, watch my diet, and exercise up to 1hr to 1 1/2 hrs daily. My test usually run about 103-115. I have checked my blood for the last 3 days after exercise, and at least 3 hrs after eating, each time they are over 160. Nothing has changed in my daily routine. everything is done at certain times daily.Hope you can help. Thanks

Stress can also cause elevated blood sugar levels. Definitely talk with your doctor about the change in your blood sugar levels as well. ~Lynn @Glucerna

Could it be possible that you are getting sick with a cold or something.  Illness or infection can cause blood sugars to be higher than usual.

If nothing has changed and you are not sick, then it may be time to ask your Dr to increase your meds.  Maximum dose of metformin is about 2500 mg/day.

I love it when people say "they watch there diet".... watch it do what?

We do know ALL carbohydrates raise BG (blood sugars) rice wheat potato pasta most fruit  ALL raise BG.

Why do you test 3 hours after eating?  to see what your food is doing to your BG test 1 hour after eating, to test if your pancreas is working at all test after 8 hours of fasting (note   not in the AM as the resault could be scqued by "Dawn Phenomenon" or DP), to test if your pancreas is working somewhat test 2 hours after eating.

testing gives you info making changes with that info gives you power over diabetes.
