I concur with KevinHarney. I am currently taking 300mg of Neurotin three times a day and 900mg at bedtime for a total daily dosage of 1800mg. I have gotten considerable relief from that dosage amount. My doctor told me that if necessary they could raise my total dail dosage even higher. While I agree with the comment that you can't reverse peripheral neuropathy, I do believe that you can halt or slow its progression by good glucose control.
Good Luck,

Be sure to check for common causes of peripheral neuropathy such as B12 deficiency. http://millercenter.uchicago.edu/learnaboutpn/typesofpn/systemic/nutrition.shtml
MY HUSBAND ALSO SUFFERS FROM THE BURNING FEET. HE TAKES 300 MG OF NUERONTIN AT NIGHT BEFORE BED AND I ALSO STARTED HIM ON ALPHA-LIPTIC ACID. HE TAKES 400 MG OF THAT TWICE DAILY AND IS ON LYRICA 75 MG THREE TIMES A DAY. HE HAS REALLY STARTED TO HAVE SOME RELIEF WITH THE ALPHA-LIPTIC ACID. HE CAN ONLY WEAR BEDROOM SLIPPERS AND MOST OF THE TIME IS BEARFOOT.GRAMMY 43
Usually Neuropathy is a one way disease. It only gets worse and not better. However, if the problem persists the Dr. can increase the dosage of Neurotin to help it more. I advise going back to the Dr. to see if they will increase the prescription amount.
