Good news; I took the test, got the results and I don't have diabetes at all. That shocked me in a good way. The doctor put it down to stress, but I still can't eat what I want. I can't eat carbs. I can't even eat brown bread otherwise the symptoms would flare back up.
I left the GP feeling embarrassed for being silly, but wtf? So great I don't have Diabetes. I ate brown bread and I didn't feel anything for a while. I went to sleep and I felt all the symptoms a patient with neuropathy felt. Dark thoughts descend. Why...why I'm I feeling this way. I'm too embarrassed to even go back.
I couldn't take the blood test today so I'm going to the doctors on Monday. An agonising 3 day wait just to get something done about it. He'll then refer me to another clinic to have the blood test.
Thank you Sally. You don't know how much this means to me. I AM going to bring it under control alright. No going back to the way I was. I've become allergic to sugar and salts. I'm done. No more takeaways or pizzas. Its healthy living from now on. I just wished I hadn't disregarded it all months ago. I've allowed everything to get on top of me. Now I have a clear focus.
Hello,
first thing you need to do is find out if you actually do have diabetes. Without testing you dont' know.
If you do have diabetes, then neuropathy is reversible IF you get your blood sugar under excellent control.
I would hope that your Dr is testing HBa1c as well as fasting blood glucose (FBS).
Please let us know.
I also have Neuropathy in my feet since I had lung cancer in 2008, I am not a diabetic, but since I had my lung removed I do.
I just like to add that the symptoms would go away hours after my meals.
