120 mg/dl is a normal random blood sugar level. Generally, below 140 mg/ dl is considered to be normal for random blood sugar.

After my second Ha1c test 2 months ago my average sugars were 129. I range anywhere from 118 to 135 throughout the day depending on what i eat, when I take the tests and how stressed I may be. It also depends on if you are taking insulin or not, taking meds or not as these all influence the overall averages.

My dr tells me I am supposed to be shooting for individual readings of between 80 and 125. So i've still got some room to grow with to get my numbers even better for the averages.

normal very much depends on how long before the test you ate.

However, 120 is not that high considering your probably ate before it.

If you are concerned ask the doctor to test for HA1c, which will give average blood sugars over the past few months.
