60 years old. Excellent health. Work out 6 hours per week. Conscious of eating less than 1500 calories per day/ 35-50 carbs. Can not lose weight. I take metformin, zocor, toprol, lotrel ( minimal dosage ) What can I do ? Maximum effort - no results.

Good answer above. Carb intake sounds a little harsh. I was told to limit to 75-60 per meal.

How is your blood sugar?  (fasting and after meals?)

Have you had your thyroid tested?

Make sure that you do cardio work as well as weight / resistance training.

Maybe you need to eat more calories?  Your body may be holding on to the weight because it is in starvation mode.  Try increasing your calories up to 2000/day (more fat and protein - maybe a little more carb if your blood sugars are good).
