Hi. Have you cut down on your carbs, namely flour and pasta? (including sugary products with flour)
I have to ask, you are taking medication to lower BG, what do you eat to raise your BG in the first place? We do know ALL carbohydrates raise BG
rice, pasta, potato, breads most fruit all raise BG for most people eat less carbs have lower BG
If you are not able to get your blood sugars down you need to see your dr and try either a different drug or be started on insulin.
Extended periods of high blood sugar are very detrimental to health. For the bad breath, it could be side effect of medication or it could be a side effect of your high blood sugar. Recommend you see your dentist also for assessment of this and proper treatment.
Please follow up aggressively with your drs to get your blood sugars properly controlled. Do not accept your currently high numbers as normal.
Non-diabetic blood sugars are always < 140 after eating and typically < 95 fasting and before eating.
Hope this helps.
