When your a diabetic, Do your sugar levels rise when your pregnant?

Im not sure if i could be pregnant or not, so i was wondering do your numbers tend to be higher when you get pregnant when your not on insulin.  Im use to my numbers being around 110 and 130 highest.. but for last 2 almost 3 weeks my numbers have been going to the hundreds.. it started happening the next night after intercourse.   Could i be pregnant and that be a really early sign??

when i went to put my prescription in yesterday for the new medicine they said i had to get a liver function test before i took it or they even give it to me so i told myself then.. im working out and gonna try to get my numbers down and not take the new meds.  All day yesterday and today my numbers have been great cause i worked out and did more cleaning and moving things around the house.  I lost 1 pound since doc on monday and i have been drinking just water all day and only one caffiene free diet twist at night with dinner then water the rest the night.   Im hoping that maybe if i can keep this up it will increase my chance of getting pregnant.  But if not hopefully ill loose more weight before i finally do.. i wanna lose atleast 30 to 50 more pounds.

Oh I am sorry, thats very disappointing, I know.  I tried and tried and every month when I got my period I cried,  Then finally I got pregnant when my other child was 17, and I was walking on air I was so thrilled, only to lose the baby at 9 weeks.  It can just about kill you.
I wish you better luck than I had at that.
Maybe drink more water for the hi sugar and like you said, try and work out more. Good luck.

:( on the way to the doctor i got my period..  so  i guess its bad news for 2 reasons, wanted to be pregnant now that i thought i could be and now i know its just me thats making the high numbers.  My hgb a1c went up to 7.3  i was so good down at 5.5 before.  So i gotta kick up my workouts and now the doc has me on another med pioglitazone just 15mg of it tho, its a low dose he said so that if i can get my numbers down soon he could pry take me off of it.

My sugars started skyrocketing in the 4 week of pregnancy with my last two children.
I wasn't on insulin at that time, either.
Have the doctor test you TODAY when you go see him/her.  A blood test is definitive.
Hope all goes well...

I must have missed where you wrote the high sugar levels? I can't seem to find that. Hmmm....anyway I don't know that, that would be a significant probability of pregnancy however, if they are over 200 thats nothing to let go, you need to have it addressed asap. I do know that diabetes can be a problem when you are pregnant but I can't say I ever heard that those symptoms point to pregnancy. I agree...try the over the counter pregnancy test if you have missed your cycle.  Good luck.

Hi Tiffany,

possibly could be a sign of pregnancy.

You could take a pregnancy test already if it is 2 -3 weeks... your period should have come by now....

With you numbers this high, you need to see your doctor.  It's dangerous to have such high sugar levels.
