diabetes

Hi everyone! My partner has type 1 diabetes, he's had it for 13 years now. He has a abscess in his mouth that has been there for 4 years, it keeps busting and draining. But for the last three years he has been ill with diarreah and stomach cramps, do you think there is a connection?
