I can understand your frustration especially since you're doing all the right things to control your glucose levels. You may wish to have your pancreas checked to see why its not producing the needed insulin. If your pancreas checks out OK, the next gland to check is your thyroid. Thyroid disorders have been known to disrupt the pancreas. From there its your immune system.
Good luck.
thanks! i am getting my readings from a home meter and the er. i have gotten leads from the gov hsa web site thanks! i eat right and exercise i am not overweight and has always been active, maybe there is another reason it is always high .i must take 4 shots a day it is hard to keep medication too expensive. thanks for listening
Here is the Government HSA web site http://findahealthcenter.hrsa.gov/
You pay the HSA Health Center basically what you can afford. Use ER too but also have them test and write the prescription.
Where are you getting the glucose readings?
1. The ER?
2. Home meter?
Have you asked the ER physician for an RX (prescription) for diabetes medication? They cannot refuse if the ER testing says your glucose levels are above normal.
Diabetes is controllable through oral medication, good nutrition, moderate exercise, and weight control. Unfortunately, without health insurance the medication can be expensive. If you're disabled apply for Medicare to help reduce medical expenditures. Any free clinics in your area?
