Glad you're seeing a doc tomorrow. Hope everything checks accordingly and your doc gets you onto a healthy path. Be sure to write everything down that bothers you in bullet outline format. Docs don't have time to read stories.

And, no, I'm not in Ill. No "real" surf there.

As best put, Type 2 Diabetes symptoms may seem harmless at first. In fact, you can have Type 2  Diabetes for years and not even know it. Go see a doctor and get tested. The simple tests are explained here: http://diabetes.webmd.com/blood-glucose

I also Google'd "hereditary diabetes" and came up with 2.25 million hits.

The symptoms of Type 2 Diabetes due to high blood sugar may include:
    * Increased thirst
    * Increased hunger (especially after eating)
    * Dry mouth
    * Frequent urination
    * Unexplained weight loss (even though you are eating and feel hungry)
    * Fatigue (weak, tired feeling)
    * Blurred vision
    * Headaches
    * Loss of consciousness (rare)

Other symptoms of Type 2 Diabetes may include:
    * Slow-healing sores or cuts
    * Itching of the skin (usually around the vaginal or groin area)
    * Frequent yeast infections
    * Recent weight gain
    * Velvety dark skin changes of the neck, armpit and groin, called acanthosis nigricans
    * Numbness and tingling of the hands and feet
    * Decreased vision
    * Impotency

Hope this helps.
