Elevated Liver Enzymes HELP

My fiancee is 29, 267 lbs and 6 ft tall.  He has extremely high bp being treated with Zestril.  His labs showed that AST was 45 and ALT was 105.  He was checked and negative for hepatitis.  He has no pain or any other sympotms. His platelets were low at 124.  He doesn not drink or take a lot of tylenol.  Can you offer me any help in finding what the cause of the elevation is>  He donated blood 3 months ago and the enzymes were elevated at 80 and we found out they were higher with this sept lab test.  I dont know where to start to try and research what could possibly be wrong with him.  I am desperate for some help- places to start, disease to consider or ANY advice you could offer me.  He is now on a low sodium diet and he is in progress to begin losing weight.  I am just lost here and its upsetting me that I dont know where to start.  Thanks so much for any help you can offer.  KRistie

He is currently seeing only  General MD because he just lost his job and has no insurance- thats why I was kind of looking for some outside help so I could do more research on possible causes.  He doesnt take Tylenol, if he takes anything its ibuprofen rather than aceto.  Any ideas on where I can start searching?  I really appreciate your advice!  Kristie

Is he seeing a gastroenterologist, or just a regular MD?
Was he tested for just the hepatitus virus, or was he tested for autoimmune hepatitus too?
A gastroenterologist SHOULD be able to tell you what is going on....what you are dealing with.
