Healthy Liver? HELP??? Anxiety Ridden!!

I just need your opinion of a LIKLIHOOD here, because I am driving myself crazy with unnecessary anxiety, and my wife thinks I've always been a bit of a hypochondriac. For seven years or so, I drank too much on the weekends (WEEKENDS ONLY - never during the week - maybe an avg. of 6 drinks a day most weekends Fri, Sat & Sunday.  Other than that, I have lived a healthy life, and lost a LOT of weight in the last year with diet and massive exercise.  I am 46 yr old male and now at my ideal weight and in weight training too, and I also cut way back on the drinking.  I get my full liver function test every year (only because I take Zocor) for cholestorol which is normal for 5 years) and every year for five years, ALL tests are NORMAL - No deviations from normal range - NONE - (and AST=ALT in range, etc)...........this most recent physical was NORMAL again EXCEPT hemoglobin and hemocrit  came out slightly lower than test range (hgb 13.9, & range is 14.0-18.0) and (hct 41.7 & normal of 42.0 -52.0)  Doc does NOT have a concern about the liver, and just asked me to take Iron Supplement and retake the CBC in 6 weeks.  No symptoms and I feel great BUT I am filled with anxiety, thinking I have cirrhosis or cancer or something.  JUST YOUR OPINION, based only on what I have told you, how likely is it that I have cirrhosis?

I agree that there is a lesser chance of liver disease with the normal LFTs.  Cirrhosis is less likely in the scenario you mentioned.

If there is concern about cirrhosis or cancer, an abdominal ultrasound can be discussed with your personal physician.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
