Although an old post I believe it is important for others to know about alternative options that are available for removal of parasites from the system.
Go on line and do some research of your own but what I have found that has worked for me and it a reliable company is drnatura's colonix program. I have been using colonix for 8 years now and it has helped me overcome a list of medical problems.
It is a natural combination of herbs that is gentle on the system that helps eliminate parasites from the body. After much research, on my part, I have found that drnatura is a reputable company and has lived up to what they say.
I have found their help desk friendly and informative whenever I have questions.
My health is important and I am so glad I found drnatura and the colonix program. Good luck to all who are seeking answers. I hope I was help to answer a few.
John, thank you for your correction.
Sorry - if my comment was wrong but Vermox is available here (Philippines) as OTC as well as other drug options - and also in Australia (if I remember correctly) - just goes to show that there are many differences between countries.
Always ask your pharmacist - after all that is what they are trained for - or your dr.
No, there are no OTC treatments for intestinal parasites. Actually, I should re-phrase that: there are no OTC treatments THAT WORK for intestinal parasites here in the US. There are, however very good prescriptions for eradication of these parasites. The most common is called Vermox (mebendazole). It is used for things like pinworms, hookworms, whipworms, and roundworms. The pill is chewable and comes only in 100 mg strength which you take for a few day, then repeat in 2 or 3 weeks. In my pharmacy, it costs about $5 per pill.
Hope this helps,
JOHN W. (R.Ph)
Just ask your pharmacist. There should be plenty of options available - don't know what is available where you live.
