Is this a hemroid?

Hello, this is not MY problem, but my sons. I see that you have to be 18 to post here so I am posting for him. My son, Dan, is only 15 years old and he seems to have a lump around his you know what. No one in my family has had this before so I was wanting to know what he has. It is regular skin color, and sad to say, I have felt it and it feels like a bubble. He says it hurts to sit down and to move his bowels. Can anyone give advice to what could help his problem? I would like to see it go away permanently. He looks to be in quite some pain when he tries to sit down. PLEASE help. Thank you

age isn't necessarily an indication of the severity of the problem. i agree it sounds like it could be a hemorrhoid. however, my son was diagnosed with crohn's disease at about that age, so i would strongly suggest you have him examined by a doctor and not diagnosed online.

No, thats not a hemroid. Its what some refer to as a "speed
bump". Tell your son to lighten-up on anal sex for a while
it should go away....

An abcess can hurt like a son of a gun. I understand they get worse with time and can require surgery if left too long.  Take him to a Dr and have it looked at. I know it is a pretty embarrassing place for a Dr to look - especially at 15, but it really should be seen. He is pretty young to have hemorrhiods.

It sounds very much like a hemorrhoid.  Does he have a history of constipation or problems moving his bowels?  If so, he may have simply irritated it which may be why it hurts.
It could also be an abscess, which is an infection and would certainly hurt as much as you say it does.  This is something he would need to see a doctor for to have it drained.  At age 15 he's too young to have anything really serious, but he should probably see a doctor if it doesn't get better.  You might want to look online and see what you can find out about abscess to see if it fits what your son is feeling.
Please let us know how he is..........
