fissure scar tissue

I have crohns disease in my rectum.  Since july of last year i have had 4 flex sigs and 1 anoscope.  The last flex sig was last week.  My GI and CRS have made sure my meds are working and my last sig showed dramatic improvement.  In october of last year i was diagnosed with a fairly deep fissure internally in the anterior area.  It took 3 months to heal.  My GI said it was healed last week after sig.  Now in the location where the fissure was located i feel a little build up of tissue.  It is very small area and has almost a brittle feel to it.  Is it likely this is scar tissue?  Also it is still a little sensitive upon defecation or if i rub it.  Is this normal and will this get better over time?  Considering the number of tests i have had can i be fairly confident this is not something more ominous?  Once again i did not have this area until the fissure.  Also my CRS took a good sized biopsy from anal area in october so could scar tissue be result of that?

Scar tissue feels like something rough--and it may dislodge if you keep touching it--so probably the brittle effect you are talking . So if you had internal exam etc then yes, you need not worry about cancer.

Clarification on one of my questions in last post. The scar tissue is internal where fissure was so what does internal scar tissue feel like. Can it feel rough or brittle?  No more questions i promise and thanks for you help and time.

Last question.  The october biopsy came back as scar tissue.  I just had a flex sig and anal exam last week.  Most likely this would have caught something suspicious right?  Also what does scar tissue feel like and will it feel better in a few months.

Hi!

I do appreciate your concerns. Well, if the fissure and the biopsy were in the same area then yes, scar tissue can form. This scar tissue is initially very tender as it is raw and as it gains strength it becomes more insensitive. This is normal healing.

If the biopsy in Oct 2013 was negative for cancer then the growth or raised tissue you are feeling is unlikely to be cancer and more likely to be scar tissue. However, since diagnosis cannot be made on net, please call up your doctor’s office and inform them. If they feel the need they will call you for an examination

Meanwhile avoid constipation by eating healthy and incorporating fiber, fruits and green veggies in your diet.

Hope you get well soon! Good Luck and take care!
