I am a 30 Y/O Male in overall good health.
I have been living with IBS and Lactose Intolerance for the past 10 years or so. I have a strict diet which doesn't include dairy, beef, or pork products. I have recently been suffering from a rather strange form of diarrhea. The stool is bright yellow, contains mucus, watery, soft, and not formed. I have pain in my lower abdomen and mild flatulence. It has been getting progressively worse. I now pass this type of stool an average of 8 times per day. So far, the episodes have been only during the day and evening-not while I am sleeping.
I went to my doctor about 2 weeks ago. She ran blood, urine, and stool tests, which were all normal. My liver function, which was slightly elevated. My doctor indicated that the liver elevation may be due to the Lipitor I was (no longer) taking for high Cholesterol.
I was placed on Lipitor (10mg) for high cholesterol about 6 months ago. My doctor ran blood work to see if my liver was handling the Lipitor. The results showed a high level of CPK - 592 and SGOT - 82. The rest of the numbers I don't have available.
My doctor says this is not bacterial or viral and wants to do an abdominal ultrasound. I suggested another stool culture and blood work as my stool has dramatically changed in appearance and frequency since the previous test.
I had colonoscopy, endoscopy (orally), upper GI,lower GI tests performed about 2 years ago. Nothing abnormal was noted. Biopsies were taken to test for Chrones and Celiac's, but all were negative.
Any suggestions or recommendations???
