Debra,
you can check with your local CCFA chapter. CCFA = crohn's and colitis foundation of america. they have a website that can help you find your local chapter (ccfa.org) and have a list of CCFA doctor members. they can't recommend docs, but at least it's a place to start. you can also go to one of their support groups and ask around. that way, you'll at least find who NOT to go to. if you have a large university hospital nearby, call them and ask if they have and GI's that specialize in IBD (inflammatory bowel disease). a lot of them do these days. good luck. take care,
Cindy
I couldn't agree more with the comments kimbacat has offered. The CCFA website is fantastic with helping in finding out what centers are involved in clinical trials and what docs are involved in these trials and who treats IBD. I would think with the University of Texas in Austin that there would be plenty of resources around at your disposal, as well as Houston and Dallas. Check out ccfa.org and see what you can find and good luck. I hope all works out for you!
