I hope you don't get this message twice. I lost the screen some how. I agree with Nanny. For years I was told it was irritable bowel syndrome. All doctors say that when they don't know what is wrong. They do the same thing with sore joints and fatigue except the doctor's call that Fibromyalgia. Please continue to find a doctor that will help you and not give up on you. I can't stress that enough. I had to go through five GI's to find out that I had three different bowel diseases. Good luck! Twingirl
It sounds like you need to see a different gastro specialist, one that will listen to your complaints and order new blood work and new tests to get an accurate diagnosis of your problems. While you feel this appointment was a waste of time, and perhaps it was, you need to keep looking until you find a specialist who won't be vague with a diagnosis. If pain management can help you, and know where to medicate you to ease your pain, then a competent GI should look at why that happens and go from there. It may be that once they find the cause of your pain, there is treatment or something else that can be done to ease it, or correct the problem. As you didn't say what your symptoms are and exactly where and what bothers you, I can't even speculate on what might be wrong. Good luck, and keep trying to find the right doctor!
