In Dec 2006 I felt a flu virus may br coming on started in my gland in the neck.
The flu did not break out in my nose or head. Instead a discomfort started in my throat. I felt there is something in my throat that produces mucus, and I constantly had to clear and swollow. First dc. asked if I have allergie. He said I have a cold. But said I don't have the ususal symptoms!! No stuffy nose, no caugh. I took over an counter antihystamine. Nothing changed.
In the meantime my mouth is bitter, more so in the morning and . Over night I have to drink water to eliminate the metallic fume.
ENT dc gave me Nasarel nose spray and Prilosec. Nothing has changed after 5 weeks on the medicine. I constantly have to clear my thoat. and have the urge to swallow. It feels like I have something in my thoat that produces mucus. I can not bring it up to check it.
It seems hopeless at the moment. Clearing my throat drives me and my family crazy. I can not stop it. The more I clear, the more I need to do it again and again. In 2 weeks I am back to ENT, and to a gastro doc.
Anybody have or had similar experience? Did you find out what is the problem and has it been cured?

doctor will not answer your question,.you have to start a new thread and pay the fee.
hello doctor. my girlfriend (19) has for about as long as ive known her, had chronic stomach aches. everymorning starts well off, she usually has a pretty balanced breakfast, no soda, or many sweet during the day, (snacks usually consist of corn chips, and water) and not long after her last meal, (about 3 to 4 hours before she goes to bed) she is hunched over in agony from not sharp pains, but more like pressure and knots. things usually get worse as she nears her period, but its not cramps. cramps and bloating usually dont have this bad of an effect on her. her episodes usually result in diahera, and consistant nausua (usually when she stands up.)
now her mother also seems to have problems, but this isnt quite the same. her symptoms include blood in the stool (which have been diagnosed as internal hemeroids) but upset stomachs on occasion.
after quite a bit of research, the one question i have is could this be related to Chrons disease? seeing as gastrointestinal problems seem to be a trait in her family, (espicially on the mothers side, going all the way back to her grandmother) the difference being that the grandmother and the mother have a pretty well balanced diet, and my girlfriends diet is insufficent on things like fruit, fiber, and well, pretty much anything that doesnt consist of pizza, cheese sticks, and other fatty foods that dont have much of any nutritional value. and if not, any other suggestions as too what may be the problem, starting with the diet, going on to anything this may sound like genetical traits, having to do with major discomfort in the intestinal area? thanks for your time
The doctor would not come back and read more questions from you once he has replied to your question the first time.
The white stuff is not acid reflux,it is probably something like phlegm, you should see a doctor,if your immune system has been impaired,it cant fight the infection -your weight loss, white tongue and phlegm are telling you something is wrong.
what is the name of your medication?
Hello..yoshi my tongue is all white tongue and yes it brushes of but always stays a faint white..i was tested for candia and it was confirmed that i do have it i am on pills and wash for the mouth but it doesnt seem to be working..

I am on meds for candia, and no i did not take any antibiotic..i wqas concerned about hiv but i tested negative for 3 month..which is conclusive..so my guess is its my abdominal..or something more serious..
with a white tongue, bloated stomach and substance coming up from the throat,it could be a serious case of fungal infection, you should see your doctor and find out if this is so.
There are medications to treat fungal infection,DIFLUCAN is one of them,a GP would do.
Have you been taking antibiotic recently?
or travel overseas?

Can you tell if there is somthing growing on your tongue, can you scrape anything off?
H Pylori testing is easy these days, you can get a breath test in the doc office,no need to draw blood.
If you have a severe fungal infection,it would affect other parts of your body ,you may even see it in your bowel movement and craving for certain food like carbo and sweets.
Does any of the over the counter acid reflux medication help?or alka selzer,GAS X ,baking soda or even chewing gum is good for you,it creates saliva which wil neutralise the stomach acid .
Upper GI pain can be caused by GERD, an ulcer, inflammation of the upper digestive tract, or liver/gallbladder pain.
The negative upper GI and ultrasound would rule out many of the major disorders.
I would consider an upper endoscopy, as well as blood tests to rule out H Pylori.
With the white tongue, testing for fungus should be done. If positive, further testing for immunosuppresive disorders can be considered.
More specialized testing, like a 24-hr pH study, can be considered if the diagnosis remains non-revealing. This is the definitive test for GERD.
These options can be discussed with your GI physician.
Followup with your personal physician is essential.
