Definitely time for a colonoscopy. Have you ever had one before?
If you are having blood in the stool, especially red blood, it would indicate bleeding in the lower 6 inches of the rectum....which inturn could indicate hemorroids. There is also the possibility of a large polyp that could be growing.
Probably the best thing you could do...in the short run...is to get a flexible sigmoidoscopy done. This only examines the lower colon and doesn't require massive amounts of prep. This will allow your doctor to check for polyps and hemorroids. If anything is found, its most likely that the doc will order a complete colonoscopy to remove the polyp and examine the rest of tract.
At this point, don't worry...and just go to the doc and get checked out. I've had it done...and its not as "horrible" as people fear it is.
