Hernia or Not

When I bend over or go to the restroom and try to wipe myself or turn in a certain way or get into the car I get a small pain under the right rib cage. Then a lump appears in the area of the middles of the breast and it tightens up. I put my hand over it and than in about a minute it slides in like a snake. There are times I think it won't go back in. My doctor says its not a hernia cause it feels solid in that area. It is happening more offend now than before. She said it is my intestines moving around than how come they haven't moved before. Can you clear some light on this for me. I am so tired of talking and no one listening.

I have a groin discomfort when laying on my stomach during certain exercises. Could this be a sign of a Hernia?

Hernias are not common in that area.

I would image the abdomen with a CT scan or ultrasound to exclude that possibility - as well as to evaluate other liver or gallbladder diseases.

Further evaluation can be done with an upper endoscopy or upper GI series.

These options can be discussed with a gastroenterologist.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
