My husband is a Viet Nam veteran and now has Hepatitis C. According to Veteran's Affairs a lot of Viet Nam Vets may have it. If you are a Viet Nam Vet check their web site for more info.

He tried the Intrafuron treatment but it didn't work. He is starting a new treatment called Peg-Intron which, was just approved by the FDA in February and has a very high success rate. It is provided by the research companies listed below. Maybe they can help you directly, or refer you to a doctor that they work with in your area.

Did you try researching your local University Hospital and see if they have any doctors on their roster that would be of help? My father had cirrohsis of the liver, due to a virus...and we found a wonderful doctor by going onto several Medical College sites. We wrote to one doctor who had written a wonderful article on my fathers illness...pleading for any leads or help...in 45 minutes we had a response from him, directing us to a colleague in the field, with wonderful credentials. In another hour this doctor had talked to this colleague, giving my father information to him, in no time my folks were talking to a doctor...only 20 minutes away. Wish I could remember this doctors name, but I cannot.
I'd give it a try though. It worked for us.
i have a doc for you,but its in cleveland ohio.write more if you still wanna know about him.
