Right Upper Quadrant Pain ... Help......

Hello... I am 32 and have had chronic right upper quadrant pain  for about 2 1/2 years. I had my gall bladder removed 11 years
ago. I have had every test in the book and most have come back
basically normal. My GI doctor has just labeled it IBS. IN MY
OPINION, I think that diagnosis is such a joke. I think that they
use that when they cant find anything else wrong. I have the
same pain every time, same place. I end up in the ER all the time.
I also have diffuse esophageal spasms occasionally. I have had
CT scans, ERCPs with stent and sphincterotomy, enoscopies,
colonoscopies, entercolisis, etc.... I am at my wits end with this!
Does anyone have any ideas or anything I can go to my doctor
with to help out? Please! E-mail me at ***@**** if
you have any suggestions. Thanks for listening!

I'm sorry I don't want to be offensive but, I have never heard such ridiculous advice! If you are feeling pain that sends you to the ER don't just forget about it! I'm going through similar problems and it has been about 1 1/2 years that I'm going thru so many pains and weird feelings in my mid section starting with my breast moving into my stomach and I'm having really sharp pain in my back area. I've had every "conventional" test you can think of and to no avail. Yet, the pain persists every second of the day and is getting progressively worse. I go to bed thinking I'm not going to wake up in the morning. Its very scary but one thing I have learned through all of this is that a doctor only knows what he/she has studied. Most doctors I've dealt with do all the conventional tests and when that doesnt turn anything up then its all in your head or stress related. I advise you to learn as much as you can about your symptoms and keep searching and fighting for an answer. Pain has always been a warning sign from your body that something is wrong or off kilter. I do alot of praying and seeking God for direction but I also keep pushing for referrals to a specialist that deals in this area. I will find an answer. I hope you do to.

When my pain does come on, it is very sereve sometimes. Which usually puts me in the ER or the hospital.  The last thought they had was something to do with my biliary tract..... I dont know...

I have alpha1-antytrypsin defiency. I was diagnosed at birth after discovering an enlarged liver. Exploratory liver surgery
was performed and i seemed to be ok. I had follow-up visits at
Boston's Children's Hospital until I was 15 years old and received a "low normal" diagnosis each visit. I have had no problems at all until recently. About a year ago I had severe kidney stones and consequently had eswl surgery to break up the large stone. I had no problems for several months and then starting having pain. After confirming fragments of stone remained in my kidney my doctor kept repeatedly telling me to just drink more fluids and the 4 tiny pieces would pass. My
most recent cat-scan (last week) showed no stones remaining,
yet the pain in my back persists. I just had an ultrasound done and my liver size was 11-12,which I guess is normal, the technician mentioned that my gallbladder was contracted. My pain is less severe than the kidney stones, but I am concerned about my liver. The pain feels like burning or "leaking" inside me.
Is that what a liver problem would feel like? Or could it be a gallstone or kidney stone

It is good that your tests are negative.
And if I were you, and the pain was not severe, then feel comfortable.
You said you have undergone surgery. There is a possibilty that when you were getting healed up some nerve endings grew aberrantly and have now become sensitive so you get pain on and off.
