Pain around belly button - worried mom

My daughter who is 14 has had a problem with stomach aches her whole life.  It was blamed on constipation when she was smaller.  This last summer they have gotten worse and more severe.  In june we went to Dr. had blood work and stool samples(they were fine) and was told possible irritable bowell.  Was given dicyclomine which seemed to work at first, but no longer does.  The first of September we went to the ER and was told borderline urinary tract infection and was given antibiotics which didn't work.  Yesterday we went back to ER and was given prescription pepcid.  She hurts mainly around her belly button.  Sometimes feels nauseas.  Sometimes its a sharp pain and sometimes a dull ache. She wakes up in the middle of the night with it hurting.  Sometimes it hurts if she eats to much, but it also hurts regardless.  She doesn't like to take medication because she says it makes it hurt worse.  She is missing school over this.  Says she goes to the bathroom fine.  The first trip to ER it was hurting over to her right side, but thats the only time.  Normally around the whole area of her belly button.  It isn't associated with her period.  Has any one else heard of this?  any info.  would be appreciated!!  Thanks in advance!!

Have they considered appendicitis?  It commonly begins as pain
around the navel and then progresses to the right side.  Sometimes this is hard to diagnose.  My daughter had appendicitis several years ago, and it came and went over several months.  Has your daughter had a white blood count test taken during an "attack"?  This is usually elevated when there is infection present.
