Recently I had a pale colored stool. To give some background on me, I have been a moderate to heavy drinker for about 3 year but have recently quit. About a week ago I came down with some type of intestinal virus, as far as I can tell. Symptoms included mild nausea and very wet diarrhea. It lasted for about 7-8 days, and during day 4 I noticed that one of the stools was very grey, the next day the stool was not grey but rather light colored. It wasn't white, but I guess extremely lighth yellowish. Now, I have read that pale stools can indicate a liver problem, but I get have blood tests done every year and my last blood test indicated that all liver tests were very normal, except for a very slightly elevated bilirubin level. My doctor told me that given all the test results, he diagnosed me as having Gilbet's Syndrome. I realize that drinking is bad for the body, so I have quit. Should I have something to worry about here with relation to the colored stools?
