Liver Panel

dvs
My liver panel has come back high for the last two years.  I was tested for Hepatitis both years results negative... my liver panel was 78 this year and down from 126 last year.  My dr. told me the range was 0-35.  She did not seem too worried ...we are testing in 3-6 months.  I was on a lot of anti inflammatory a few years back, and pain relievers for chronic lumbar sprain for about 10 years.  Could those meds have caused my liver panel to be so high? What can I do to help them go down more?

Thank you,
dvs

WOW! you have had a lumbar sprain for 10 yrs, is it really a spain?? That just seems too long to suffer :o( I have a hurniated disc, they said lumbar sprain until MRI said different, xrays showed nothing.  I have had high liver enzymes going on 4 months, its 60 not too high but enough my dr is concerned.  i have taken two bottles of motrin and two of tylonal since 98..my injury.  I then have had 2 depo-medrol (steroid) injections in my back and I feel great, except for the irritable bowel and stomach problems I now have along with the fatigue. My dr has had me do an ultrasound, blood profiles, EKG< Xrays, hep tests and everything has been fine but the liver enzymes and an inflammed heart also. He is now running the autoimmune disease, cholesterol, copper and iron tests plus I had an Upper GI last Thursday!  Hopefully something comes back so I can find more energy!  I am beginning to think all the testing will pay off once he can narrow it down some. If nothin comes back i would like to see a specialist to get a biopsy done. The thought of my organs being messed up scares me to noooo end.  My children also have slightly high liver enzymes  :o(  Good luck and God bless!!

It does sound like the pain relievers are a factor.  The least you can do for yourself is to eat very healthy and find out what foods could assist as a liver cleanser.  You could also check with your local health store, but make sure your dr. is ok with whatever you try.
