No, I don't have chrones. (at least they didn't diagnose that yet, but they're going to look for that and cancer when I get the colonoscopy). But I have severe IC and also inflamation in alot of other places in my body. I have, since the IC started, developed arthritis in my hands, and some kind of problem with my heart, my EKGs are so abnormal that they thought something was really wrong and I had a heart catheterization...they don't know what's causing the tachycardia and lack of oxygen, they think I'm getting coronary artery spasms. That makes sense, my bladder's constantly in a spasm, why not my heart or other muscles. Smooth muscles, I think that's what's giving me the heartburn too, isn't the stomach a smooth muscle? You're right, it's just so frustrating to have all this stuff going wrong but not know why. I wasn't surprised that they found blood in my stool, I've had blood in my urine for 15 years, I guess just about everything in my body is inflamed. Sorry this is so long, but I just get really upset.
Thanks, that doesn't sound too bad.
Terry,
Have you been over to the IC-network? (board) It's great. I too have IC. Isn't it the pits? I swear, all this inflammation has to do with something. How did you find out that you had crohns? I guess you had a colonoscopy?
Jennifer
Hi, I don't have any of your symptoms, but I did have an upper endoscopy. Mine went fine for me. They put me to sleep, and I didn't feel a thing. Before I knew it I was awake in the recovery room. Afterwards my throat was a little sore and I was tired for the rest of the day, but that was about it for me. Good luck with yours. Julie
