ultrasound
blood/stool tests
I experienced the same symptons a few different times. After going to the doctor I was told I had a gallstone. Doctor said it was small and that I didn't have to do anything (like surgery) at that time, but that in the future I should consider it. Two weeks later I had the most horrible gallbladder attack ever. I was doubled over in pain, broke out in a sweat, couldn't breath or talk, felt like someone had punched me in the stomach. After it went away (20 minutes) I was so sleepy - I couldn't keep my eyes open and fell asleep. I ended up going back to the doctors, had blood test done, which revealed elevated liver enzymes. I had my gallbladder removed the next day. If your current doctor could not find anything through blood test (my first blood test came out fine the first time too) Possibly he should reccommend an ultrasound to detect a stone. Also, blood test should be performed as quickly as possible after an attack..this is when results are most likely to show up.
