PAIN IN LOWER RIGHT SIDE

IN 1988 HAD PARTIAL HYSTORECTOMY DO TO ABNORMAL PAP - IN 1998 HAD OVARIES REMOVED DUE TO SOFTBALL SIZE GROWTH ON LEFT OVARY WHICH CAUSED PAIN ALL THE TIME, 1999 HAD MORE PAIN ON RIGHT SIDE, FOUND RESIDUAL OVARIAN TISSUE ON RIGHT SIDE, HAD SURGERY TO REMOVE TISSUE AND ANOTHER LARGE GROWTH THERE. DURING SURGERY HAD APPEDIX REMOVED ALSO. THE RESIDUAL TISSUE WAS ADHERED TO THE BOWEL AND BLADDER.

SINCE THAT SURGERY HAVE HAD PAIN IN LOWER RIGHT SIDE WHENEVER I HAD BOWEL MOVEMENT. RECENTLY THAT PAIN HAS INTENSIFIED AND IS MORE FREQUENT. ON A SCALE OF 1-10 I'D SAY IT'S A 5 - ALWAYS WHEN I HAVE TO GO TO THE BATHROOM AND JUST AFTER. ANY IDEAS?

HAVE HAD EXRAY- SAW SOME CALCIUM BUILD UP BUT THOUGHT WAS POSSIBLE FECAL MATTER, HAD BLOOD TEST - ALL OKAY. HAD ULTRASOUND DONE, NO NEW RESIDUAL TISSUE, NO MASSES FOUND.

ANY INFO WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

Maybe you have adhesions or scar tissue from your other surgeries. It could be attached to your bowel which would give you  the discomfort. Good Luck

It is very possible you could have adhesions.  I would see your doctor soon and talk to him about this increasing pain. Any kind of abdomenal surgery can cause this to happen. The scar tissue could wrap around your intestines and cause an obstruction, so see your doctor about this problem please. The more surgery you have the increase chance of adhesions developing.

adhesion /adhe'zhn/, a band of scar tissue that binds two surfaces normally apart from each other. They are most commonly found in the belly after surgery, swelling, or injury. More surgery may be needed to pull apart the tissues.  See also adhesiotomy, intestinal obstruction.
