Hi...Hopefully someone can answer this... my grand daughter is 1 month old and the kids are leaving the AF to move back here in Vegas and the baby started passing "a small" amount of red blood in her stools. She is breast fed and my son not thinking the AF has adaquit Drs. as they said they would send her to Ok city to a gastronologist as they are in TX. They are leaving in 2 1/2 weeks! The Dr. there said it was an allergy to dairy in breast milk. My daughter stopped all dairy and baby continued to bleed but here and there as she did before. She's not cranky, putting on weight well but "spotting" here and there. Then my daughter introduced dairy again...and no bleeding.
My sister had told me of "intussaception" but my spellings wrong and shes away. Supposed to be where the bowel folds back.
Does anyone have any comments? I would appreciate :-)
Vicki
I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder which presents many symptoms that mimic other diseases so they had a colonoscopy run to rule out any other problems
Hi:
I had bright red blood a few times on occasion. When the blood is bright red that usually indicates that you have a slight tear in your anus or a hemorhoid. It is caused by constipation or hard stools. Drink plenty of fluids and eat fiber to soften your stool. If you are really concerned call your advise nurse at your doctors office.
May I ask why you had a colonoscopy? Twenty years old seems awfully young for this procedure.
It is most likely an internal hemorrhoid that has become a little bit irritated. The bright red blood and spots usually indicate a fresh irritation, close to the anal opening. I wouldn't be concerned, unless the condition deteriorates or causes considerable pain. A high fiber diet is suggested for people with hemmorhoids. If this condition continues, or causes any pain, consult a doctor.
I forgot to mention, I did have a colonoscopy in the past showing no polyps
