High Bilirubin

For my yearly physical, I have had several blood tests.  My trigleserats(SP) are up and my bilirubin is up.  I took a second blood test with the same results.  Note: I stopped Premarin and Celexa in the last 2 months.  I am scheduled for a ultra sound for liver, panreas(sp) and gall bladder viewing.  I am concerned as the doctor as said nothing, just a note to inform me of this situation.  What am I possibly looking at?

Thanks Nanny,

Yes, I am an overweight, 5'6" female.  Joined WW 9 wks. ago and have lost 10 pounds.  20 more pounds to go to be at the top of the WW suggested weight for women over 45 yrs. of age. I will post after my ultra sound and tell of results and what I am told to do or take for correction of this situation. Whatever comes of this may help others...

A good healthy diet can often solve many problems, and if you are overweight, Weight Watcher's will be a problem solver for you.  Your ultrasound tomorrow may provide some more clues as to what's going on.  Once you get the results from that, you may have more questions.

You should consult your doctor about your diet plans, since he/she may have some suggestions for you.  No matter what you find out, a healthy diet and healthy eating will be good for you overall.  Good luck!

This was my yearly physical.  As far, as symtoms go, a few months ago I had diarrhea and stopped it with one dose of Imodium A-D, and it was a week or so after that before I was back to regular elimination and now everything's ok.  I don't know what symtoms to look for, no other irregular behavior., that I have noted.  However, a solution was arrived at yesterday after a 2 1/2 year stressful situation. Maybe?? I just started Weight Watchers, and the food chosen is very healthy. The ultra sound is the next thing tomorrow.

High triglycerides and high bilirobin levels can indicate pancreatic insufficiency, so you may be looking at possible pancreatic problems, or an obstruction of some sort.  Have you had any unusual symptoms or problems, or was this just a regular physical?  Sometimes this can be corrected with diet.
