6 pound / 1 year old shih tzu suddenly sick

I have a little Shih Tzu I rescued from our local shelter back in June of '09. She just turned 1 last month and has had some health issues, off and on since I have had her.
It seems she's fine for 3 months, then BAM...she'll start showing signs of vomiting and loose stools / diarrhea.
I have had a full blood count / CBC done and all has turned up neg.
She did test POS. for Giardia back in Sept and we started her on meds for that.
The vet also suspected she possibly had gastritis Ulcers, as she began in Sept. to vomit blood.
So we put her on antibiotics, pepcid and anti vomit meds.
She got better..
Well she got sick again in Dec..basically the same issues. More tests..nothing, now they are telling me she does NOT have giardia and ruled out the ulcers...
Ok, so anyway...2 days ago, I came home from work and saw diarrhea all over my kitchen floor as well as what looked like some vomit, but couldn't tell if it was part of the stool, or actual vomit.
I discovered a few minutes later, it was my little Emmi (rescue girl) that had the diarrhea, as I spotted mucus near her anus.
She seemed fine and did not "act" sick and showed a hearty appetite, etc...
The yesterday, we were napping and suddenly she leaps up and starts to wretch....she spewed up a coule spots of clear liquid with a little foam.
Thinking maybe her tummy was empty, I gave her a a few bites of her kibble.
She eats Wellness Core Fish Formula and K9 Kravings Raw.
So, she seemed fine after giving her a few kibble. All was well...until today....she started vomiting clear fluid with a lot of grass blades in it. Then it went to clear fluid with some white foam and she is now vomiting the clear foam every hour.
I was had you suppose to allow the stomach to rest and not offer food or water, until the dog hasn't thrown up for at least 3 to 4 hours, but I am very concerned about dehydration. I gave her a few teaspoons of water and she JUST NOW while I type, threw up more clear liquid...no doubt the water she had a bit ago.
I called my vet earlier and at that time, this wasn't as often or severe as it appears to be getting...Severs in my eyes anyway....
She seems tired after her bouts of wretching, and I cannot tell if she's becoming lethargic or just tired from vomiting.
It's a deep gut wretching vomit...
I have Pepcid, children's dissolvable Benadryl and some anti vomit meds from her last visit in Dec, which doesn't expire for another couple months..
Should I attempt to give her anything to help ease her vomiting, or wait until I can try and fit her in tomorrow.
'When I called our family vet, I was informed all the vets were booked tomorrow..so I may be taking her in to another vet first thing in the AM...
She's so tiny and I feel so helpless.
I lost my precious Heart Baby, Pekingese to an illness that took her in only 4 days form the first sign she was sick and it about destroyed me. I cannot go through another loss so soon! Please help advise??
I am at a loss..

I'm glad that the doctors are going to start her on Giardia treatment. Please post again and let me know how she is doing..Boy oh boy, I know how you feel. Our dog passed over a year and a half and it was so hard. We couldn't talk about her to people for the longest time, it was just so hard...She was our baby.

Now we feel we are ready to get another dog. We have never been without one and the house is just not the same. I only hesitate because of what you are going thru. We freak out just like you. Its a nightmare when they get sick and the doctor cannot figure out what it is..

Wishing you the best,,so please post again to let me know she is okay, or PM me.
Thanks and I wish you the best:)

Thank You Myown...
They did admit her this morning, at our family vet clinic.
She went all night, every 2 -3 hours throwing up...I gave her a little Pepto (less than 1 ml as she's only 6 pounds) and have given her sips of water intermittently throughout the night.
This morning on our way out to potty..she vomited up dark yellow bile and I knew she HAD to be seen. She was slightly, but not severely dehydrated. They are going to keep her throughout the day and evaluate her and we're probably going to start her on Giardia treatment and the follow up in a month with another dose of treatment...and if she continues to show signs of this illness, we will be referred to a specialist in another town!
Thank you for your response and concern!

Is there a 24 hr Emergency Hospital in your area? I say this because these doctors seem to know a lot more due to the emergency cases that come thru the door and all they have seen.

If its on a Sunday, its different because that is when all the new, less experienced doctors work it seems.

I would seriously try an emergency place and also many times parasites dont show in the stool and worming them will help. Its just that I would be a little afraid because her stomach is probably really bothering her...My heart goes out to you. I know how upsetting this can be..

I hope you get answers soon and that she fully recovers,,,but it does sound like worms to me....unless there was something she got to an ate,,but it sounds like you take good care of her and I doubt there would be anything poisonius that she could get to..

Please post when you find out. I feel really bad for both you and your dog. Its a nightmare when things like this happen. My prayers I send for your dog.
