Anal gland surgery

My dog had anal abcess surgery three days ago and he won't walk or hardly sit ... Can anyone tell me about the healing time and what is normal? I've taken I'm to the vet every day since his surgery and they say he's just sore. He did walk for them just a little but I think it was just him wanting to get out of there in a hurry . He will not walk at home at all he justs sits and cries. I hate to see him this way.

Thank you he is on pain meds ...tramadol 50 mg, every 12 hrs, rimadyl 25 mg, every 8-10 hrs  and amoxicillin 250 mg every 12 hrs
They gave him the tramadol the second day I took him back and the other the first day . He still lays and cries... He did just jump off the sofa and ran to the door when someone just rang the doorbell so I guess he is able to walk but chooses not to . Keeping it clean with compresses and sitting with him like a new born .  Maybe it's just a case of him milking it for all it's worth?

Welcome.....Any surgery takes at least 7-10 days to heal & they're all painful........The soft anal area may take longer & hurts worse.......There is no reason to let your dog be in pain......Did they send him home with any pain medication? If not, you need to call your Vet and say your coming over to pick some up........He should have never been sent home without any......You will need at least enough for a week.......Your dog should be on oral antibiotics for the abcess, also..........Karla
