My own dog took this after a broken leg and it did her so much good. In damp weather she had started to favour that leg a little sometimes. As soon as she took the Glucosamine/Chondroitin supplement, it took about one week to see a great improvement. After that, she had no more trouble with that leg.

She weighed 30lbs, and the correct maximum dosage for her was 500mg Glucosamine and 200mg Chondroitin once daily. I bought these as 'human grade' capsules (powder in a gelatin coating) and she had this with breakfast every day.
If your dog weighs 50-60lbs double that dose. (1000mg and 400mg.)
If about 40-45lbs one and a half tablets (750mg Glucosamine/300mg Chondroitin)

Our vet told us to use one human tablet for our dog, it is 1,500 mg.
Glucosamine- 1,200 mg. Chondroitin this combination is in one
tablet.
We also use a pliers to crush the tablet as he said it goes into their
system faster, more effective and we use it once a day crushed on
his morning food just put it on the top of his food no problem with
him eating it.
This will not work as fast as a "drug" should take about 10 to 14 days
to fully get in your dog's system we did not want to use the drugs but
rather something natural...we have used this for the past 7 years.
