Thanks for the information, yea she had diarrhea until the vet put her on Purina EN and then it started to be real hard and now she cant go at all. He said probably allergy to something she been around, he said maybe her new dog bed. Every since she been on this kind of food she been staying so skinny. Thanks, I will keep yall posted.
just because you got it from the vet, doesnt mean its good… my vet explained to me that they carry the food that they are promotionally contracted with… Purina is not a great dog food… just great marketing…
I would feed her "Renske"… or any food that is natural… the way you select a food is by reading the ingredients on the back of the package… the first ingredient should say the name of the animal meat (ie: chicken, cow, lamb, fish, etc)… If it says something non-specific, like: "meat product", or "animal meat", etc… than it is not good.
Dogs get their nutrition from 1 source… they only can eat what we give them… it should be the best...
Hi and welcome to the forum.
No, Purina is not a good food. There are some lengthy posts by Misfits or TwoBitsMomGood, I don't have time to search right now.
I would switch foods and get one that is grain free and has Omega 3. You don't do an abrupt switch but use half the old and new for a couple of days. Some of your smaller pet stores often carry sample size bags to give you.
Aside from that, you can pick up a small bag of Pro Plan Salmon for sensitive stomachs and give that a try. It may be trial and error.
So, she had diarrhea and is now constipated? You can try adding some
canned pumpkin (not the pie filling) or add a little Bran Buds to her food for the constipation. What did the Vet say about the rash? What is she sleeping or laying on? If a synthetic material, try switching to terry cloth or 100% cotton just on a chance it may be a contact issue.
Please keep us posted and if no improvement, you may want an opinion from a second Vet
