Hello. Greetings to Australia from the UK.
Thank you so much for your lovely message. I thought the groomer was uncaring, as she knew it was Toby's first grooming since he went blind.
I might well have a go at clipping him myself, but Bichons are not easy. All those curls!!
I do hope things work out for you. How is your daughter now?
Maddie I had a blind Cocker Spaniel he was the joy of my life .Imagine you little dog everything is in darkness and he does not know why.Of course he is terrified at the groomers what cold fish they are I would not go back there anyway. Its up to you to make this poor little boy feel safe and loved, that means lots of talking to him and cuddling to make him feel safe, you are going to have to learen to be his eyes. The money you save at the groomers you can buy a good set of clippers and learn to do it yourself, when you get his confidence you can do so much with him when he trusts you completly. This will take time but it is so rewarding.Who cares if he looks a bit of a mess until you get the hang of it.Anything you want to know just Google it.... how to teach a blind dog, how to clip a dog anything.
You can gently wash him yourself with non sting baby shampoo just use a jug of luke warm water but soooo slowly.and lovingly.
You have on your hands a little guy who is in a scary world of blackness, make him feel safe and never stop loving and cuddling him until he you can face this world together.
Sincerely Seeana.
My dog has recently gone blind and is now very nervous.
I have had the same groomer for him since I had him as a rescue dog three years ago. Last time I took him to groomer, was the first time since he went blind. The groomer now says he is too much of a handful and he will have to be sedated if I take him to her again.
IU don't want to do this. Do you thin Rapid Bath is for dogs like my Toby who dislike being groomed?
Hi and thankyou for making me feel welcome..Rapid Bath is a spray which has a shampoo inside it which washes your dogs as you spray seen a vidio of it on petplace.com Its a site in the US I think and its great! everyday they have answers for problems in dogs also many vidio's of dogs doing hilarious things.
They sell things too but first and formost its a good site for learning about 'what makes your dog tick .
Just have a squiz and let me know what you think.
Once again thankyou for making me feel welcome.
Hi welcome. I live in UK and have never heard of Rapid Bath. What is that?
Keep in touch with us all. We are a caring and friendly bunch of animal lovers.
Nice to meet you seeana! I haven't tried Rapid Bath and can't say I've noticed if it's even marketed here in Houston. Is it one of those "waterless" bath products?
