Once upon a time I had never heard of Rainbow Bridge. All I knew was my dog had died. I missed him and asked God for help.
I had many interesting dreams. In one of the dreams, it was exactly as this author described....I saw him running and playing with other dogs in a beautiful field. He was chasing a female dog (just what he would like to do in his life!) He saw me, and ran to greet me, then turned and ran off again -too absorbed in his fun. It was a very comforting and very vivid strange dream.....It felt so real....
Hello,
I am so sorry for your loss. Tonight I read all of your posts. You are such a strong person.... I can not thank you enough for all of your posts. God Bless you!! My five year old German Sheppard has Cushings. She has been on Meletonin and Ligins since August 2009, when tests proved it was Cushings. Have you ever heard of this treatment? I completly understand if you do not want to discuss this matter anymore. I also want you to read this.....Again thank you and God Bless!! ~hugs

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I'm so sorry for your loss. I to know what you're going through. Unfortunately my little Sadie has Cushing's and was diagnosed in February. I noticed the symptoms in November of 09 and the first vet told me it was liver disease but the more I read and looked around I realized it was cushing's. I went to the second vet who confirmed it. Sadly I don't have the money that she needs for the help BUT the vet also told me that she probably wouldn't respond to the treatment. I've been just trying to keep her comfortable and she's been doing good until about 5 days ago when I noticed a big change. She has now been diagnosed with Pyometra and I to will be having to say goodbye to my precious Sadie this week. He said she'd never survive the surgery anyways. It's really hard considering I've been trying to have a child for about 6 years now. We have no kids and sadie is my little girl. She just turned 10 this past February when she was diagnosed. I thought it was ironic when I read that most are diagnosed around the age of 10. Bittersweet week for me. Saying goodbye to her and then going to see a fertility specialists on Monday. I'm sorry again Sandra. It's sad. You know they're not going to be here forever but I never thought it would end like this. Just know she's better off now as I know my Sadie will be. Big Hugs ! Take Care!!
I am so sorry for your loss and it must have been so awful for you to lost her to this awful disease. I lost my precious dog Ragga about a month ago. He was nearly 16 and had a long a mostly healthy life but it has broken my heart completely and I can't imagine how hard it must have been for you to go through this horrible illness with her.
I hope you find comfort in knowing that she is running free of pain and illness now and will always be with you in your heart She was lucky to have had you.
Sending you love and best wishes in this very sad time.
I just hate it when we lose our furbabies. We all understand how terrible it is and that you have to grieve just as hard and long as any other beloved family member. I ended up on anti-depressants after losing my first dog. Just couldn't stop crying - even at work. I should have been on them since puberty, so I thank God for every day of the 13.5 years Travis was in my life, and that his death put me back on a good mental track.
It's so amazing what animals bring into our lives, and that's what I try to focus on when I lose one. We all know we will likely outlive our little companions, and in my book that makes us all very special people. Blessings to you during this terribly difficult time.
I am so sorry to hear about your baby. You know in your heart that she loved you so much and she was such a lucky little girl to have you as her mommy.I really admire all you did for her.She will always be with you in your heart. You will be in my prayers.May God Bless You.

Oh you poor thing! Your beautiful little Julie was so well loved. We are here for you in this terribly sad time. God bless.
You fought a good fight for your Julie. You never gave up. I loved the way you fought on for her. And I know she felt the love, and dogs' Souls know without doubt when they are blessed with care and love. You could not have done better for her, or given her a happier life.
You, and her little Spirit, are in my prayers tonight.
I'm so sorry to hear about your little girl. Our dog lasted only four months after being diagnosed, and she was also on Trilostane. I don't feel that med is worth the bother, it helps some symptoms, but gives you other problems. It is a horrible disease for dogs, I wonder how well humans do with it. You did everything possible to help her, feel better knowing that.
I'm so, so sorry to hear about your loss of your precious Julie. I know how nasty this disease is! Willow put up quite a fight for 2 years himself. I hate it and wish they could come up with a cure for this nasty disease.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Very sorry to hear this. I know how hard it is.
