You really need to be sure yourself on how bad off the fella is...a lot times the ER vet hospitals are faster and better w/ knowledge because they see and treat the worse cases so they are quicker to finding solutions...
Dogs get dehydrated quick and can pass away...shivers is a bad sign...
I would if I could go to ER hosp w/my dog...
Welcome to the site, and hope all goes well for you and yours...
thanks for the advice; however, now he is not shivering and he is walking around, very slowly, but walking. we just gave him some water. also though, he wont lie down on his bed now, he will sit on it.
any new ideas?
When my dog was fixing to expire, he would not lay down, I had to hold him almost upright on the couch till his eyes would shut for awhile, its was a terrible night, the next day I lost him..
Have you ask your vet yet?? You said, he had an appt???
Anybody know if this is a boxer thing? The only other boxer I know has similar symptoms.
My dtr&h adopted a rescue boxer, 11 months, given up because she didn't eat and when she did eat, she vomited, sick but I don't recall if shivering was part of it. It was the 2nd adoption for her, and we suspect the same cause, that is, she had this problem all her short life.
They have had some close calls, emerg. vet trips. They are almost O/C in feeding her: amount, time, humidity in the room (I'm kidding about the last), and have ONE friend (a couple) she can stay with when they're gone. Finally, they were rewarded with a year of reasonable eating and rare vomiting, but a short while ago, she destabilized and more ER trips for a couple of months.
Of course, two dogs do not a stat. significant sample make. Just wondering if there's a lot of this going around with boxers.
