Large Growth histiocytoma? On Dogs Paw.

Just found a large growth on my dogs paw, it's in between the pads, very large and looks like a whole additional pad growing. It's red and swollen.

Recently just noticed as he stays with my parents as they have a home for him and I live in an apartment. With the weather being snowy when I was cleaning his paws I noticed it.

I will be taking him to the vet this week if they have an opening.. it's new years day and nothing is open.

Anyone see this before? Or know what it is?

Hello & welcome....I was going with Cyst until I saw the picture! I agree w/  Deadgamegrrl, that looks like a tumor (Or three) to me, too.

The sooner it is removed the better...I would also like to know how long it took to grow to this size? Any idea?

Good luck at the Vet & please come back with updates......Karla

OK, that is not an interdigital cyst!  That looks like some sort of tumor but I have no idea!  I would just get in to the vet as soon as you can.  Do your parents have any idea how long it has been there?

Hi!

It sounds like an interdigital cyst, which can be cured with oral antibiotics, with topical antibiotic cream sometimes also used in conjunction.  They tend to come up pretty fast and look scary, but they are usually easily treatable by your vet.
Good luck and let us know what the vet says!
