My dogs legs just slide out from under him.

My 13 year old Bischon is in overall good health but in the last 7 months he has developed problems walking.  it satrted with an occasional skipping in one of his back legs.  we took him to our vet who checked out both legs and hips stretched them out and was unale to find  a problem.  it has progressed now tothe point that he can barely stand and walk and his rear legs seem to just slip out from under him.  Is this just old age or could it be something else?

There's a wonderful new product made for just what you describe...My Holistic Vet found them last year at a convention....He recommends them at his practice for various reasons:  You might want to check it out.....

Two of my dogs wear them and we LOVE them......Both are disk disease dogs and their legs slip on our floors, too!

What type of surface is he on when his rear legs slip out from under him?  Our dog is old and doesn't do well on our hardwood floors, her rear legs slip, especially when getting up..  We have to put throw rugs on the wood floor on the path she usually takes from one room to another, seems to help.

Welcome.....Did your Vet offer any Anti-inflammatory Medication for your Bichon when it was limping? Did it help?

This could be Simple age related Arthritis made worse by the winter cold.....Ask your Vet for a prescription (If you don't already have one)and start him on a good Joint supplement.....This may be all he needs and would be worth trying..........Let us know,  Karla
