Please pray for Spirit

My friend's dog, Spirit, was run over yesterday by a police car and killed instantly.  My friend didn't have him on a leash.....This dog was a Rot Weiler (spelling?) but was a big baby!!!  Ioved him so much.  Please pray for his soul to go to Rainbow Bridge and for my friend to have peace also.  He was about 5 years old.  I am so upset over it.  What an unnecessary tragedy.

Thank you.

WHERE TO BURY A DOG..................

There are various places in which a dog may be buried. I am thinking now of a Rottie, whose coat was flame in the sunshine, and who, so far as we are aware, never entertained a mean or an unworthy thought. This Rottie is buried beneath a cherry tree, under four feet of garden loam, and at it's proper season the cherry tree strews petals on the green lawn of his grave. Beneath a cherry tree, or an apple, or any flowering shrub is an excellent place to bury a good dog. Beneath such trees, such shrubs, he slept in the drowsy summer, or gnawed at a flavorious bone, or lifted his head to challenge some strange intruder. These are good places, in life or in death. Yet it is a small matter. For if the dog be well remembered, if sometimes he leaps through your dreams as actual as in life, eyes kindling, laughing, begging, it matters not at all where the dog sleeps. On a hill where the wind is unrebuked, and the trees are roaring, or beside a stream he knew in puppyhood, or somewhere in the flatness of a pasture land where most exhilarating cattle graze. It is all one to you, and nothing is gained, and nothing lost, if memory lives. But there IS one best place to bury your dog.

If you will bury him in this spot, he will come to you when you call..........come to you over the grim, dim frontiers of death, and down the well-remembered path, and to your side again. And though you call a dozen living dogs to heel, they shall not growl at him nor resent his coming, for he belongs there. People may scoff at you, who see no lightest blade of grass bent by his footfall, who hear no whimper, people who may never really have had a dog. Smile at them, for you shall know something that is hidden from them, and which is well worth knowing.

The one best place to bury a dog is in the heart of his master.

suzi-q..........I am so sorry for your friends loss, for yours, for all of us who KNOW what it means to have a dog.........and lose them. My many, many loved, and never forgotten friends, will be waiting at the Rainbow Bridge.....................
Peace

Yep, the name "Spirit" says everything, he had a destination and he finally got there, and he will be you and everyone forever....
Dogs are wonderful spirits......very sorry for your friends lost of their little friend, and hope they recover and become a new dog owner, for the love can be shared with another little friend in need of love and affection in the name of "Spirit"....
And your friend is lucky to have a friend so caring like you, good luck to you and your friends, keep us posted:o)

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's dog.  Rotties are big babies .... even his name, "Spirit", shows his character.

I have no doubt the rottie's soul has passed over the Rainbow Bridge and has a special place beside the Great Mystery (God).  Dogs are inherently good, caring and loving "fur babies".

Will pray for Spirit the rottie, her owner and you.

Spirit must have been a much-loved dog.

This is making me teary.  All dogs go to the Rainbow Bridge when they pass.  I'm sure of it.
I'll be sure to think about Spirit.
