KELS -- I know you are probably still a little concerned about your dog, even tho he's doing better. When I would run out of money, I sold a few things, or hocked it if I thought I could wing it until next payday. And instead of spending a lot on groceries, go down to the food bank and get some free canned items and such, to again put some money together. All you want the vet to do is have a look at his swollen places (if he still has them... could be it WAS allergies), and that way you won't have to pay for a test until you have enough cash. A visit is not too much, really. Also, I wonder, has your dog had his normal series of shots? If not, you gotta start saving for that, too. GG
He also has never had any ticks what so ever I can answer that!
I'm so sorry I didn't reply sooner..I thought I would get an email if somebody replied to my post, he is fine!
I am not a psychic, but as soon as I saw your post I thought of Ticks.
Does he get Ticks on him? I don't know....my instinct might be wrong there. Ticks carry many diseases. Usually there is little threat if the Tick is taken off within 24 hours....but can you recall him having a Tick on him for a long time?
Whatever -your dog needs to be checked by a vet, if this is an on-going problem.
Not having money for the vet is like playing Russian Roulette. One day sooner or later he is going to need a vet. No creature gets through life without some health issue sometimes. Maybe you need to get him sorted out right now. Yes it will cost money. Maybe you can find some method (think laterally in any way you can) -to raise vets' fees.
But then get something sorted out for him. Either charitable help, or insurance, or savings, but he will need that some day in the future.
Can you describe this swelling a little better and where it is located? Is it hard or soft? Have you consulted your Vet?
