Prognosis for 2nd Stage Kidney Disease and meal plan

Hey all......I just found out last week my beloved Rat Terrier has stage 2 Kidney disease. I am new to this and I am just wanting some help understanding all of this. The vet put her on KD and she will nibble the dry but not touch the can. I decided to make her a meal myself. I am feeding her rice, chicken and carrots the vet said this is fine but she really wanted her to eat the KD. She seems to be eating this for now. She is extremely finicky so I am open to any other meal suggestions. Callie is also on EPAKITN a phosphate binder.  She acts fine but I wasn't sure in everyone else's experience how long it may be before this will progress. I am just so heartbroken I can't imagine my life without her. Also what vitamins does anyone suggest. I do think she needs some since she is not touching much of the KD. I also found online on PetWellbeing some kidney disease drops that I will start her on when they are received next week. Thank you all
