I have a puppy who goes through periods of not eating and drinking as much. She is healthy. I noticed now that she is a bit older she goes through these periods less than she did a month or two ago.

If she seems to be having problems eating, my wife puts a little water in with her food to soften it up a bit. Seems to work very well

Good point.  Four months is about when they start teething.

Hi,
I also have a 4 month old puppy.  She goes through spells of not eating.  I have attributed alot of this to her teeth bothering her.  If the dog's teeth are driving her nuts, she will not obviously want to eat.

How is your puppy today?  Sometimes puppies that age will have an off day when their appetite is a bit down or they have played so hard that they are too tired to eat.  If the dog is still acting happy, is not acting depressed, and if his gums are still pink and moist, you can wait and watch for a day or so  -- which, in this case, would have been yesterday and last night.   But if he is still not eating today and still drinking very little, he needs to go to the vet, TODAY.
