blood in urine

My 14 yr old boxer is taking Proin for two weeks, just noticed a couple hours ago he was just have a few drops coming and stood there for several minutes trying to pee and a drop here and there came out.  My husband just took him for a walk because the same thing was happening to him when he wanted out to try and pee again.  He noticed that he had blood in his urine, this is new.  Is the medication causing this?   He was put on Proin and an antibiotic two weeks ago with only one week of antibiotics and a whole bottle of Proin for incontinince.  What should we do?

I would stop the Proin and call the vet, maybe even the ER vet since its the weekend.  Was he put on the Proin as an adjunct to treating a UTI?  I've never heard of this.  Usually its used as a long term solution to spay incontinence or other chronic leakage problems (I have a dog on it).  At this point its probably at least masking symptoms from the original diagnosis, if not making things worse.

Call the vet and report it before there is kidney damage.
