What is your dog's appetite like?  Has her appetite increased, seemingly to where she is ALWAYS ravenously hungry?  Has she lost any weight since she has started with the diarrhea?

You may want to ask your vet about testing her for a condition called Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency, or EPI.  EPI causes dogs to have chronic diarrhea and loss of weight despite the fact that they eat and eat and eat.  If you start to give replacement enzymes, the diarrhea will start to resolve within a few days, and the dog will begin to regain the lost weight.  If the condition is coupled with a second condition called Pancreatic Acinar Atrophy, or PAA, then many times the lost weight will not be regained but no further weight will be lost.  Unfortunately, however, it will be necessary to provide lifelong enzyme replacement for the dog since they can no longer manufacture the enzymes themselves.

Chronic, long-standing diarrhea (particularly yellow/mustardy in color) makes me think of EPI right off the bat.  Please post back and let us know what your vet said when you mentioned the EPI.

Con't...

Sorry just realise ur dog is a gal. How old is she?

Btw, maybe ask your vet whether she needs any prescription diet for this moment or for life. Maybe some gastro or hypoallergenic vet diets may help. My dog is also on it & I mix in some commercial can food in her kibbles provided her condition is normal. Or u can add in some fresh cooked meats/veggies into her wet food when her condition is stable.  Depends on what choice u want. Try to give her some varieties & fresh food to her vet diet kibbles/can food.

Pls stop all treats for a few days to monitor. Then slowly introduce e treats back again when she's back to normal. By the way, having overcooked brown rice is better than white rice. Lesser glucose to prevent diabetic & easier to digest esp overcooked ones... Give her multiple small meals a day to help digestion first. Normally it's better to feed 2-3 times a day even during normal condition. ;)

Sorry Im rather longwinded. Hope it helps. ;)

Hi! My 14.5 yo dog also has bloody diarrhea last wk. Initial 1-2 days during his medication, his poo was also yellowish but it turns normal after that. Maybe u can give your dog one OM-X probiotic (black colour oval capsule) and C-Lium fiber capsule daily. But one mth diarrhea is rather long, is it Irritable Bowel Diease (IBD)? My dog used to have IBD in 2010 for abt half a yr & after mths of C-Lium fiber capsules & 12 vitamin B12 jabs (6 jabs given wkly & another 6 jabs on alternate wk), he has been treated, his poo is very nice thereafter. Then slowly taper down e C-Lium fiber such as giving him on alternate day for a mth/s to monitor, then 3 days once & on off for life. It really helps. Try to google for vitamins B12 Jabs for pets, it helps to provide energy, increase appetite & helps to strehgthen their guts. Especially good for sick pets.  My dog's diarrhea is due to introducing of some new food/treats.. =(  His poo was tested & some bad bacterias are found. Now on the way to recovering. Remember not to dyhydrate your dog. Sypringe him some fluid if he dont drink. maybe you can give him some overcooked rice/brown rice + sweet potatoes/bumpkins + minced lean chicken breast to start with for 2-3 days before slowly adding in his kibbles. This is based on my experience on one of my dogs who always used to have soft poos/diarrhea/bloody diarrhea. This is always wat e vet adovate me here. C-Lium Fiber can be given for life after his condition has stabilised. Maybe u can ask ur vet abt this OM-X probiotic (to replace bad & good bacterias tat are killed by e antibiotic) & C-Lium fiber (can get from pharmacy) to harden e poo. Depends on ur dog, it takes 1-3 days to harden e poo. ;) Rem to check w ur vet whether ur dog needs certain amt of ekly vitamin B12 injections/jabs. Good luck & hope this info helps to give u an idea on hardening e poo. ;)
