Dog help needed
Hello, I am a single mom of 2 girls. My dog, about 5 days ago was throwing up and not moving around too well. He is 11yr old, and a terrier/ chawinnie mix. He was better the next day. Then the day after he is better, my daughter's dog, 6yr old Paraniess/boarder collie mix, will not move around to much and will not eat. I thought, ok they caught some kind of bug and she will be better in a day like my dog was. Well, we are on day 3 and she has gotten a little better, but she is whining and will not jump still. She has started eating and drinking, she walks around and her tail is back up, but she whines a lot and will not jump and give "hugs" and if you touch her tummy now she will yelp. I am very concerned, but I am unable to pay for an unexpected vet visit. It takes everything I have just to keep them on their heart worm and flea medications. Any advice? We have not changed their food and I have looked for recalled food, I have not found anything chewed on....I am really out of ideas. Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

Money can be very difficult sometimes. I know. I have been there. But no matter what, you have got to be able to provide for your dog's medical needs. Sure as eggs are eggs, one day they will need medical care and we all know that costs money. Either savings, insurance, or charitable help....whatever, has to be in place in case of those emergencies.
I cannot say what's wrong with your dog. None of us here can do that. Only veterinary examination will help.
When a dog vomits or has diarrhea for a day or so then gets better, that's okay. But after the second day, they are in danger and need help.
It may just be a passing thing -I don't know. And a 24 hour fast with just water, followed the next day by plain boiled rice for the first 2 meals, graduating to plain boiled rice with some plain boiled chicken or fish -might fix the issue. That home treatment can often help with tummy upsets. So can a couple of doses of Pepcid. But if this doesn't clear up with that regime then there is something seriously wrong.
But I feel unsure of even saying that, as it concerns me that there might be something already seriously wrong and time is being wasted....
