I agree w/ Connie......The odor is yeast/fungus....Also, make sure his food is a high quality grain free...Yeast feeds on sugar...All the unnecessary grains/carbs in low quality pet food turns to sugar in the system & feeds the yeast.......Make sure you get the anti-fungal shampoo through your Vet (At least the first time!).....Then you will know what to purchase from now on........Let us know how he's doing....Karla
P.S. Your Vet can also dip (With an Anti-Fungal dip) your dog the first time to get this under control....You then would continue with the baths.......

It sounds like your dog has a yeast infection. That would explain the smell you describe.
Google the condition called...Malassezia dermatitis
I think after you read about it, You will agree, and you will want to talk to your vet about it.
If this is what your dog has, you will need to shampoo him with and anitfungal antibacterial shampoo. There are also topical creams that are available.
