Oh, so sorry. I just saw this update. Did the Vet every determine the source of the bleeding?
Sounds like this would have been a lengthly and costly treatment and one that may not have worked. I feel the right decision was probably made as you often have to go on the experience of your Vet. I don't think many Vets make the hasty decision to euthanize an animal if they think there is a chance something can be done. It often gets down to not just a monetary issue but one of a quality of life for the animal.
Sorry for the loss. :-(
Thank you for coming back with an update......I appreciate you taking her to the Doctor...I'm sorry that it came to a sad end, though....
You gave her the best gift you could; to end her pain & illness....I think your little brother made the right decision...I'l be thinking about you both and praying for your Peace.....
Again, thank you for coming back and telling us.......Your in my prayers.....Sincerely, Karla
I am sad to hear this. It is always hard to make that decision. But it's the time when if you really love the dog, you can sense what they really need. It sounds like you all could sense she was going to suffer a lot, and decided to give her peace.
There is no other place for dogs but Heaven. Think they come from there in the first place.
My condolences, and my thoughts are with you.
we took her in, ran her blood and her blood levels were really low, then they said they could do a blood transfusion for the next five days, then try and operate but wouldnt be a guarntee she lives and tat she mite die on the table and cost up to $1000 plus the doc said it would be better to put her down. then my lilest bro had to make the final decision which was to put her down so that she wont suffer anymore:( its sad yes because she was a fam dog but she has been my bros since he was like 2 or 3 yrs old which was hard to let her go ..but like he said shes in a better place now like dog heaven:)
What are you waiting for, take her to the vet, now.
If you mean bleeding from the vagina, then this is an emergency. She could have Pyometra, and untreated Pyometra can kill dogs very quickly, or if it doesn't, it can severely disable them with kidney failure. Usually, they die.
I hope your girl will be OK. The vet may suggest an emergency spaying (if she hasn't already been spayed?)
If she has, then it could be what is called a "Stump Pyometra" (that is an infection in the small amount of tissue left behind after a spaying.) This can happen.
This forum is not set up for Emergencies......Your girl sounds very ill & we could only guess what might be wrong with her...
She needs medical treatment ASAP to have her evaluated....Please, get her to your Vet for proper diagnoses...She sounds as if she's suffering and that's certainly NOT fair to her....
Call your Dr., Now for an appointment.....Please, come back and let us know what happens....Good luck, Karla
Bleeding a lot from where???? Urine, stool, throwing it up?
Drinking a lot of water? May be kidney/bladder issues.
Bleeding a *lot* of anything from anywhere should warrant a visit to the Vet.
